Rules and Regulations for GMAT

GMTA (The Graduate Management Admission Test) helps business schools admission boards to know if a student is committed and ready to undertake the various graduate business education courses that are offered in the school. You will need to pass this test if you want to be admitted in any of the business schools. One of the guaranteed ways of ensuring that you pass is by abiding by the stipulated rules and regulations. Unlike the rules that govern other examinations, these ones apply throughout the GMAT exam administration including breaks.

Here are some of the regulations and rules that govern GMAT tests that you should keep in mind.

Identification

When checking in at the test center, you will be required to provide valid identification documents. Once you submit them, you will have to indicate that you agree to the GMAT test rules and agreement. The admin will also use a special digital device to record your signature, palm veins pattern, and a headshot. For you to be allowed to take the tests, you need to undergo the entire process. If for any reason you refuse to participate in any part of the check in process, you will not be allowed to take the test and it will be assumed that you have forfeited the test fee.

Signing NDA and General Terms of Use Statement

Before you commence answering the questions, all candidates are required to agree and sign the Nondisclosure agreement. In addition, an electronic confirmation of the agreement is also required before starting to answer the questions.

Test and Optional Breaks

The test will commence promptly after you are seated at the designated computer. You will need approximately 4 hours to complete the test. It is also important to note that there are two optional breaks that you can take during the test administration. If you decide to extend the break, the excess time will be automatically deducted in the next test category.

Finally, you are no allowed to discuss any contents of the exam with anyone when the test is ongoing, during breaks, and even after completing it. In addition, candidates are not allowed to drink or eat anything inside the examination room.
